Description

The clamshell bucket for digging between sleepers.

The BMV 2/200-S clamshell bucket is just 270 mm wide, making it ideal for digging between railway sleepers. The shells are powered by two powerful, vertically arranged hydraulic cylinders, which ensure high closing force and penetration into the ground. The standard configuration includes three bolt-on digging teeth; the cylinders are equipped with a check valve. These buckets are very robust despite their low weight, making them versatile and easy to use.

Special adapters for road-rail loaders

Each hydraulic grab attachment can be equipped with quick-release couplings and specific adapters for the rotators used on road-rail loaders. The presence of these special features makes hydraulic grabs and buckets easily interchangeable with other attachments during the same workday, adapting to the various work phases typical of a track rehabilitation project.

Railway excavation

Digging buckets are tools consisting of two synchronously moving shells, operated by hydraulic cylinders via the controls of the operating machine on which they are installed. These hydraulic attachments are suitable for loading aggregates such as gravel, sand, and soil. Depending on their construction geometry and attachments, clamshell buckets can be adapted to specific uses, such as excavating compacted soil and sludge. In the railway sector, vertical cylinder buckets with a width of approximately 270 mm are widely used for excavating between sleepers during track maintenance and renewal. These can be fitted to a wide range of machinery, including so-called road-rail loaders, which are equipped with both pneumatic tires for road travel and rail wheels for movement on rails, like wagons.

Premium quality parts.

All attachments are manufactured using high-yield-strength Swedish steel for structural elements, while wear-resistant steel plates (Hardox) are used for surfaces in direct contact with handled materials, including bucket blades, tines and tips. The oversized-diameter pins are machined from special steel and hardened through a dedicated heat treatment process. Bushings feature a built-in internal spiral groove designed to ensure even grease distribution. The full production process is certified in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
