Continuous rotator with shaft for rail-road excavators
Hydraulic rotator for road-rail loaders
The interchangeable rotator is a key hydraulic component that allows continuous 360° rotation of the gripping accessories mounted on the road-rail loader's arm. Its function is to provide maximum operational flexibility, allowing the operator to precisely orient grippers, buckets and hooks relative to the track, regardless of the machine's position. The rotator's lower pin fits into the dedicated adapter found on the rail equipment, thus allowing a single road-rail loader to use different attachments, quickly swapping them.
Wide range of customization options
In addition to the standard, mass-produced rotators that Idrobenne has been supplying to leading railway construction companies for years, numerous customizations are available upon request, including the rotator's lifting capacity, rotation speed, head shape and shaft dimensions. Idrobenne's technical and sales department is available to design custom rotators and provide targeted quotes.
Rail tracks construction
Railway superstructures are the components that make up the track, the surface on which trains run. They primarily consist of steel rails, sleepers (wooden or concrete), which keep the rails at the correct distance—called the gauge—and ballast, the layer of gravel that distributes loads and ensures the track's geometric stability. The superstructure also includes fastening systems that secure the rails to the sleepers and switching devices, which allow vehicles to move from one track to another. Special excavators, called "road-rail" loaders, are used in track construction, requiring the rapid interchangeability of many handling attachments.
The quick change of accessories
The ability to quickly swap hydraulic attachments on road-rail loaders is a major advantage. These vehicles, which operate on both road and rail, must adapt to multiple types of operations: from replacing rails to moving sleepers, from compacting ballast to excavating between sleepers. A quick-release system with an interchangeable rotator allows switching from one attachment to another—hydraulic grapples, forks, clamshell buckets—in just minutes, reducing downtime and maximizing throughput during short and strictly scheduled rail traffic interruptions.
