Sorting grapples to pick up and separate different materials. Idrobenne offers a comprehensive range of small grapples, to suit excavators up to 8 Tonnes.
Idrobenne sorting grabs series SG are gripping devices with two synch-mesh jaws, operated by one double-acting cylinder, with only one hydraulic circuit. Grab hoses are protected inside grab body to minimize risk of damage. The equipment is set in motion by the driving of the operating machine on which the grab is mounted. Sorting grapples are intended to separate stacked materials, which can be construction site residues, debris and bulk waste in an ecological pitch. At the end of the closing movement, the jaws touch in correspondence of the wear blades. This geometry allows a great precision in sorting. Any mini-excavator can become a more versatile and useful tool when using a sorting grab. These tools have become a must in sorting and selection of different materials in landfills or controlled demolition sites. Idrobenne offers five models, which can be mounted on excavators from 1.5 to 8 tons. The hydraulic rotator and the anti-wear and reversible counter-blades are supplied as standard.
Unlike orange peel grapples, clamshell buckets and log grapples, which must be mounted as a “pendulum”, or by a cardan suspension link, which allows the oscillation both in longitudinal and lateral direction with respect to the excavator’s arm, all sorting and demolition grapples are mounted on the machine through a “2 axes” adapter. This system grants a rigid connection to the excavator’s boom and makes possible very fast and precise movements. The grab operates as an extension of the arm, and ensures high accuracy in the movements on mini-excavators, wheeled loaders or tracked machines. Idrobenne offers adapters for rigid mounting and custom-made adapters for the most common hydraulic quick couplers like Lehnhoff, Verachtert, Vtn, Trevi, Morin, Klac, Cangini, Geith, etc.
Sorting grabs have many similarities with demolition tools, but also some very important differences. In first place, Idrobenne uses the same construction materials, which consist in high-tensile steel Weldox and Domex 690 for the structure and wear-resistant steel Hardox 400 for the blades and the tines. Even constructive geometry and kinematics are almost identical. The design is essential and simple, to provide excellent structural strength and easy accessibility during regular maintenance operations. The hydraulic rotators of the smaller models are the same, all provided by German company Kinshofer and built with the very strong and reliable orbital system. The main difference is the power of the hydraulic cylinder. SG sorting grapples are fitted with a smaller hydraulic cylinder, which ensures quicker movements in relation to the same oil flow. Sorting operations must be as quick as possible, to allow the operator to complete each movement in the shortest time. On the contrary, demolition grabs need as much closing power as possible. That’s why DG grapples are provided with very powerful cylinders, which grant huge clamping forces. During demolition operations, in fact, it does not count the rapidity of the movement so much, but the closing force of the jaws. As a consequence, DG demolition grapples are made with a stronger structure and with ticker metal plates, which are necessary to withstand the greater stress given by the cylinder force.
Idrobenne SG sorting grapples are offered in two versions: the standard version, with perforated jaws, and the so-called “universal version”, which comes with closed arms with sawtooth profile and ESCO-like teeth. (This digging tooth for bucket is constituted by a welded adapter, which mounts an interchangeable tooth fixed through a retainer). The grapples with the perforated arms are used in scrap yards and landfills for the quick selection of materials. In fact, the jaws with perforated bottom allow the operator to see through the grab during sorting operation. The universal version, however, is very common in mountainous areas, where it represents the perfect and most versatile for environmental architecture and building stone walls. In these areas, operators use the universal clamps for different purposes: excavation of earth and mud, material handling, placement of stones and boulders, collecting green waste and green waste, small demolitions, terraces. A tracked excavator with an universal grab turns into a multipurpose machine, which is capable of performing various jobs. The quality of Idrobenne attachments can be compared in this field with the most famous brands like Martin and Huppenkothen. They can equip excavators and wheeled excavators type Eurocomach, Menzi Muck, Terex, Hitachi, JCB, Cat, Kubota, New Holland and Takeuchi.
Idrobenne sorting grapples are designed to equip any construction equipment. Given the quality of the construction materials and the reliability of the design, it is not difficult to find an used sorting grapple. In particular, at its headquarters of Isorella (Brescia), Northern Italy, Idrobenne can often offer used or overhauled sorting grapple, with warranty. Most of Idrobenne hydraulic equipment has well protected hydraulic circuit: the hoses are protected inside the main frame to prevent breakage in contact with the materials. The prices of grabs and accessories are very competitive in terms of sturdiness and reliability. The company offers a comprehensive service, any spare parts is always available on stock. Do not hesitate to ask for grapples for mini excavator at low prices.
